    These juicy blackberries are worked separately then applied to the background fabric.   • Oil Painting: Landscape

    In this class students will create a beautiful landscape in oils. A relaxed step by step approach will ensure the class is appropriate for all abilities, even those who have not previously used oil paints. - £38 for this full day workshop, payable in advance - Free refreshments provided, but bring or buy your own lunch - Please check the list below to find out what you will need to bring with you Equipment & Materials It is a requirement that we will use water soluble oil paint (to avoid fumes and make cleaning up easy). Please bring: - Canvas – 12 inch x 16 inch stretched canvas or canvas board - Paints – Water soluble oil paints (e.g. Winsor and Newton Artisan): Titanium - White, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Light (or pale), Paynes Grey - Brushes – Either hog or synthetic: 1/2 inch Filbert, 1 inch Filbert, No. 6 Round - Palette Knife – Medium size diamond shape - Palette – Flat wood or plastic, to lay out and mix paints - Miscellaneous items – A free standing or table easel is strongly recommended, kitchen roll, pack of moisturising baby wipes, apron, water pot.     Come and practise producing an altered book. How would you change a book? We will show you lots of ideas of how to transform a book into a work of art! Rather than just sending an old encyclopaedia to landfill, make it into something you want to keep. Doorstop, amusement, or an album of memories – it’s your choice! You will take one home and one to carry on altering!     Use bold acrylic paints and wax/oil pastels to create vibrant and expressive works. No experience of these mediums is required, as a step-by-step process will be used throughout the day. Paint from a setup using flowers, foliage and accessories.     A fun day using paper collage with acrylic paint to create textured and vibrant landscapes. David will demonstrate how he works on canvas. Come prepared to push the boundaries working in this style and challenge yourself.   • Zentangle

    The Zentangle method is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns which are called ‘Tangles’. Zentangle can help with focus, encourage dexterity, assist with mindfulness and more! - £19 for this half-day workshop, payable in advance - Free refreshments provided - There is an additional materials cost of £5, payable to the tutor on the day   What is Zentangle®? The creators of Zentangle, Rick & Maria, say “The Zentangle method is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns which are called ‘Tangles’ “. When attending a class with a Certified Zentangle Teacher, called a CZT, you will be shown how to create ‘Tangles’ using very basic shapes which everybody can draw onto Tiles, which are small pieces of paper. By focusing on one stroke of the pen at a time you will slow down and focus on drawing the ‘Tangles’. During this class each student will be shown the process from start to finish and will take home their own Tiles to display.     All tutors, organisations and users are invited to our AGM & Users Meeting on Friday 1st November 2019, 7.00pm This is an opportunity for you to provide us with your opinions, comments and suggestions to help us to improve. If you have any particular topics you’d like discussed at the Users Meeting, please inform us beforehand so they can be added to the Agenda.

Limited parking to the side and rear of the centre.  Wheelchair access is available at the front of the Centre.
 

Payment

Class fees are payable on the day at reception on arrival.  Workshop fees must be paid 2 weeks before, either in person or by phone unless otherwise stated.
