Seascapes in Acrylic and Mixed Media

Seascapes lend themselves to this kind of medium – lots of atmospheric skies and sea/beach reflections, producing a free and colourful painting. The course will be a step-by-step process throughout the day, using acrylics and wax/oil pastels. Give this exciting way of painting a try!

Equipment & Materials

You will need to bring:
– Acrylic paints – vibrant colours – don’t worry if you don’t have a large range, the tutor can provide some extra paint
– Wax/oil pastels – again, vibrant colours
– Hot pressed watercolour paper – at least half imperial size (60 x 60cm)
– Practice mount, if you have one
– Large bristle brushes – not watercolour brushes
– Easel – preferably free-standing, but a table easel will suffice
– Board – large enough for your chosen paper size – and bulldog clips
– Palette – greaseproof paper on cardboard is adequate
– 2 water pots and a large roll of kitchen towel
– Sketches/photos for inspiration, but the tutor will also have some to copy

Hot pressed watercolour paper available from the tutor for £3 per sheet.

Information for Students

Limited parking to the side and rear of the centre.  Wheelchair access is available at the front of the Centre.
 

Payment

Class fees are payable on the day at reception on arrival.  Workshop fees must be paid 2 weeks before, either in person or by phone unless otherwise stated.
