

Using an underpainting technique to apply a first impression painting followed by texture build-up using a palette knife with heavy body acrylics in an impasto style.

Equipment and materials
Acrylic paints – vibrant colours
Heavy duty impasto gel
MDF or hardboard (pre-primed with white gesso). You can also use canvasses or canvass board. (Size should be at least 50x50cm)
Large bristle brushes (old decorator’s brushes will suffice)
Palette knife
Easel (table or free-standing)
Palette – greaseproof paper over cardboard or ‘stay wet’ palette
2 large water pots
Roll of kitchen towel
Sketches or photos for inspiration



Limited parking to the side and rear of the centre. Wheelchair access is available at the front of the Centre.
Class fees are payable on the day at reception on arrival. Workshop fees must be paid 2 weeks before, either in person or by phone unless otherwise stated.
