→ Week 1: Graphite and Charcoal (please bring your own mixed media pad, pencil and charcoal)
Week 2: Pastels Oil/Chalk
Week 3: Acrylic Paints
Week 4: Watercolour Paints
Materials will be available to purchase for weeks 2 – 4 at a cost of £2.00 per week.

For all sessions bring an HB pencil, an eraser, your sketchpad, masking tape.
(If a painting session) additionally bring water pots and at least one palette knife or butter knife for mixing paint, a drawing board would be very helpful.
Materials will be available to purchase for weeks 2-4 at a cost of £2 per session per learner if you do not have the equipment required.

| Week 2: (June 12th) | Pastels | Oil pastels or soft, chalky pastels, pastel pencils are great too, mixed media or pastel paper, tortillons or compressed paper smudge stick. |
| Week 3: (June 19th) | Acrylic Paints | Acrylic Paints, heavy body (or thin body and a mixing medium) Palette knife or a butter knife, palette or a white plate, suitable support like a canvas or mixed media paper, or canvas pad, small selection of paintbrushes suitable for acrylics |
| Week 4: (June 26th) | Watercolour Paints | Watercolour paints either tubes or in a ‘tin’ (they’ll look like little hard bricks of colour), watercolour paper or mixed media paper, a palette knife or a butter knife, a palette or a white plate, a small selection of paintbrushes. |
These sessions support differentiated learning, and will have three distinctive experience levels:
Beginner; Those that are new to art, inexperienced or haven’t created art for a long time.
Intermediate; Those who have experience but need guidance to start developing their techniques.
Advanced; Those that have been painting and drawing with confidence but want to explore other mediums and perfect their style.
Refreshments and biscuits are provided at a cost of £1.00 every four weeks payable in class.
Please note, this may not be a nut free environment, lactose free milk, herbal teas, and decaf ‘options are available. if you require more specific dietary allowances please feel free to bring them along.
*Learners are required to enrol for all four sessions, however if you decide that these classes are not for you after enrolling, please let the community centre know so that your space is freed up for another prospective learner.
