Equipment & Materials

A kit will be provided at a cost of £7.50 containing all materials required, but students need to bring the following:
– An 8”/20cm wooden hoop frame with the inner ring bound with opened out bias binding or strips of sheeting
– Basic sewing kit including embroidery scissors, pins, sewing/embroidery/beading needles, tape measure and thimble if used etc.
– A small, fine paintbrush (like those used by model makers)
– A protective cover for your work. (a plastic shower cap is ideal)
– A lightbox, but only if you have one to hand
– A black waterproof pen with a nib of 0.25/size 01 (Sakura Micron Pigma). Please note that this is included in the kit price, but if you have one already, we can adjust the kit price accordingly. But we buy them in bulk and can get a better deal than you can buy them individually
– Seasoned stitchers may wish to bring a selection of their favourite threads including stranded cottons, silks, metallics and fine Perles.
Your kit will include a 12×12 piece of Egyptian cotton and backing fabric, and use of paints, watercolour pencils and a selection of threads and stickles for £7.50 (or £4.75 if you already have a micron pen).

To book, please call 01373 323280 or email info@braintreecommunitycentre.org.uk. We are able to take payment by card over the phone.
