SUMMARY:Patchwork Saturdays: Log Cabin and Strippy Piecing
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nWith Karen Odinga.\nGet Strippy with Log Cabin Motifs and Blocks\n It’s that in between season of winter being pretty much over but spring hasn’t totally arrived. What to do? Make Log Cabin blocks! A perfect in between type of block to learn and experiment with strippy pieces. We revisit the stich & flip method\, paper piecing and discuss machine method of construction so you have your choice of hand or machine to construct a traditional log cabin shape as well as some abstract variations.  \nFor this session you will need to bring along: \n\nYour usual sewing kit to include a fabric scissors\, needles\, pins and an all- purpose\, neutral colour sewing thread.\n3-4 fat quarters in a desired colourway or if going to your stash\, a variety of cotton\, cotton/poly blend fabrics to mix and match. Fabric pieces should be at least 2.5 inches wide and 3 inches long. Try to bring along what you already have. There is our class stash pile to top you up for some pieces that may fit in too.\nMedium weight foundation fabric (calico or similar-just something to sew the strips onto. Approx 12” x 12”.
